For my web presence creation I have chosen a blog as my
central node. My 3 contributing nodes are Delicious, Facebook and Twitter.
The reasons for choosing a blog as my central node are;
Blogging is a good example about
interactions between web users and it is a growing web 2.0 platform. Blogging
has also its financial benefits; if the blogging sites make use of ads, the
blogger can gain a percentage on the ads’ revenue. Another genius advantage of
blogging is that the blogger himself can advertise his product. For my web presence I have chosen
Blogger, and it is made by Google. Blogger
is an excellent tool to create traffic to your site. Moreover through blogs it
allows you to know more about yourself and allows others to give their opinions
or for suggestions, as a result they give more thought about a particular
topic. Most of the youngsters use blogs as it is an easy way to express their
feelings and sometimes they share original ideas which can be useful for
bloggers which might find it interesting. Blogs are useful tool to remain in
touch with important contacts.
“A blog (short for weblog) is a personal online
journal that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption.
Blogs are defined by their format: a series of entries posted to a single page
in reverse-chronological order. Blogs generally represent the personality of
the author or reflect the purpose of the Web site that hosts the blog. Topics
sometimes include brief philosophical musings, commentary on Internet and other
social issues, and links to other sites the author favors, especially those
that support a point being made on a post.” (Tech Target, n.d.).
Twitter as my contributing node:
Twitter forms part of the social networking and
microblogging service and it has become very popular recently. The main
activity of Twitter is to say what you are doing in no more than 140
characters. Through twitter I will keep
my followers with updated information about my main interest; Zouk. Moreover Twitter
is an important platform in the web 2.0 as it improved the way communication is
passed between users. The attractiveness of Twitter is that it’s rapid,
it is manageable and productive used by a wide diversity of people and because
of the 140 character limit to messages it keeps interactions brief. Another evident
advantage of Twitter is the aptitude that it gives you to network on a diverse
level with other bloggers or readers. Furthermore through Twitter we have the
impression that people write what they really think on a topic because of the
words limit.
Facebook as my contributing nodes:
Nowadays almost everyone is on Facebook, I have chosen
Facebook platform as my contributing node in my blog as I will have a larger
audience to reach my central node - my blog. On blogs anyone can leave a
comment with Facebook as my contributing node this turn off the "Anonymous" comment option
by going to Blogger > Settings > Comments. The users can use any of their
ID to leave a comment so you are now informed about who is commenting. Additionally
through Facebook you do not have to reply to each user commenting on your blog
preferably you can pay them good care by replying to each reader under their
comments. This way a comment thread is established which additionally styles
the conversation more valuable and entertaining. By using Facebook as an addition
of your blog, you will also discover new ways to cooperate with your readers. Moreover
while using Facebook as a contributing node; you will likewise be capable to try
different methods that will catch your readers’ attention. Some of these
methods for example, posting precise questions, pieces of nonsense, quotes by
famous people linked to your blog content. By so doing you are attracting
your audience while drawing attention to your blog.
Delicious as my contributing node:
Delicious is one more Web 2.0 boards where users can keep their preferred resources or links in. It turns as a social bookmarking collection. Using Delicious not only bookmarks your content but also while returning to the site it shows you, new things that has been added to the authentic content. For my blog I used Delicious as another contributing node as it is very simple to use. When you register for a Delicious account, you have the chance to connect two Delicious buttons to your web browser's toolbar. The first button takes you to your list of kept bookmarks, and the second lets you to tag any web page to your Delicious bookmarks with one click of the mouse.

Delicious is also an unlimited technique to discover
content of interest, because you can simply explore using appropriate tags.
Having the capability to subscribe to feeds for tags of your choice makes it equally
easier to discover content of importance. In my Delicious account for my blog I
have used some Zouk articles and my Facebook link Zouk and add my own blog as “stack”.
My blog
The main theme of my central node is about Zouk. As I am
a passionate of Zouk music it was easy for me to create my blog on that
particular topic. For my template I have chosen simple red because it reflects
the main characters of my blog “Feel the sensation of Zouk”. Red symbolise
passion and the sense it is the most emotionally intense colour. Red inspires a
faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the colour of love. It drives well
with Zouk where we have Zouk-love. When the partners are dancing we have the
impression that they are in love.
On the right side of my blog we have links like “share
it”, “followers” or “follow by mail”. The main purpose of doing this is for my
readers to have updated information on my blog.
